1. Agreement

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of My Bowl (the “App”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These Terms are designed for transparency with Apple App Store and Google Play requirements. They are not a substitute for qualified legal advice. Have counsel review before public launch if you operate as a commercial publisher.

2. The service

My Bowl lets you log bowling sessions, detect nearby alleys (with permission), enter scores manually or from scoreboard photos, view stats, connect with friends, and optionally subscribe to Pro features.

When cloud sync is enabled, profile and bowling data may be stored on our servers to operate the service, improve the product, and—only if you opt in—support promotions as described in the Privacy Policy.

Features may change, and availability can vary by device, OS version, and region. We may update, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practicable.

3. Accounts & eligibility

You must provide accurate profile information and keep it updated. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping login credentials secure.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms.

You may delete your account in the App. Deletion removes or anonymizes personal data as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to legal retention needs.

4. Free tier, ads, and Pro subscriptions

Free tier: Core scoring, history, basic stats, alley detection, photo-assisted entry, and friends features are available without payment. The free tier displays AdMob ads (banners on free screens; a rewarded ad before opening score entry to log a game; interstitial ads after finishing a session). Ads are not shown on the live camera capture UI. You may cancel instead of watching a rewarded ad, or upgrade to Pro for ad-free scoring.

Pro subscription: Optional paid plan for advanced competitive features and a fully ad-free experience. Current offered prices (subject to change and regional store pricing): $3.99 USD per month or $29.99 USD per year.

AUTO-RENEWAL: Pro subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID or Google Play account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current rate.

Managing & canceling: Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple App Store account settings (Subscriptions) or Google Play subscriptions settings. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.

Trials/intro pricing: If an introductory offer or free trial is offered, details will be shown in the purchase sheet. Unused portions of a free trial are forfeited when you purchase a subscription where applicable under store rules.

Refunds: Billing and refunds for App Store / Play purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Contact them for refund requests related to store purchases.

Restore purchases: The App will provide a way to restore eligible subscriptions on your devices.

5. License & acceptable use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for lawful personal purposes in accordance with these Terms and store rules.

You agree not to: misuse the App; attempt unauthorized access; interfere with other users; upload unlawful or infringing content; reverse engineer except where allowed by law; use the App to harass others; scrape or bulk-export data in violation of technical limits; or use the App in any way that violates Apple or Google developer policies.

Scoreboard photos and friend tagging: Only photograph boards and share friend scores when you have the right to do so. Do not apply scores to another person in a misleading way.

6. User content

You retain rights to content you submit (profile info, scores, photos you upload). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, and display that content as needed to operate the App (including OCR processing and showing activity to friends you connect with).

You represent that you have necessary rights to the content you submit and that it does not violate law or third-party rights.

7. Location, contacts, camera, and notifications

Optional device permissions power convenience features. Denying permission may limit features but does not remove your obligation to comply with these Terms for features you do use.

Background location, if enabled, is only for alley-related reminders you opt into—not for unrelated tracking.

8. Third-party services

The App may rely on third parties such as Apple, Google, hosting/auth providers, analytics, push services, and ad networks. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

9. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Bowling stats, OCR results, alley detection, and friend matching may be inaccurate or incomplete. Always verify scores that matter to you. The App is for personal recreation and tracking—not official league sanctioning unless we expressly state otherwise.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR PRO IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50, EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

11. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the App, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law, to the extent permitted by law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time and may delete your account in the App. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk/harm, or as required by law. Provisions that should survive (including license limitations, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive termination.

13. Apple & Google required terms

If you obtained the App from Apple’s App Store: these Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support. Apple is not responsible for product claims, legal/regulatory compliance related to the App, or consumer protection claims. In the event of a third-party intellectual property claim relating to the App, we—not Apple—are responsible for investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge as required. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You represent you are not in a U.S. embargoed country or on a U.S. denied-party list.

Google Play: your use of the App must also comply with Google Play Terms of Service. Billing for Play subscriptions is handled by Google.

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the updated Terms in the App and revise the effective date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance where permitted. If you do not agree, stop using the App and cancel any subscription through the store.
